    2. Learn more about the importance and benefits of clinical trials with Dr. Samuel Markind of Associated Neurologists. 

      A Board Certified American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Samuel Markind is a neurologist in Danbury, Connecticut specializing in dementia and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and has been in practice for 31 years.

October 30: 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off

    2. You are invited to Maplewood at Newtown's 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off on Thursday, October 30th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

      Do you make a mean chili? Then, dust off the recipe books and put on your apron. 
      Do you like to eat chili? Come out and judge for yourself who has the best chili in town.

      Join us for a chili blazing evening with special prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners with special entertainment.

    2. Maplewood at Newtown offers an ongoing support group for families and friends of people affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. Join us in this safe and caring space where people touched by Alzheimer's and dementia. Join us in this safe and caring space where people touched by Alzheimer's and related dementia can learn more about the disease, share concerns and ideas, express their feelings, and hear about advances in research and advocacy. Our group is facilitated by professionals experienced with dementia, and everyone is welcome...especially family members and caregivers.

      Respite care is available during support group meetings for families needing assistance with their loved one. Please call Patricia at 203-426-8118 for advanced reservations.
